I was under much stronger academic pressure in London than I’ve ever been at Gettysburg. Was that be the reason why I enjoyed socializing there far more than I enjoy it here? Was it a coping mechanism?
Probably not.
Gettysburg, a provincial town in a state where people “cling to their guns and religion”, is just short of people of the right calibre.
