I have lately found myself spending more time than ever on Opinion pages of various newspapers. Because these articles are largely based on subjectivity of the authors (that’s why I read them), they don’t hesitate to back up their ideas based on a quote from a like-minded person who knows a lot about that particular subject. A pundit.
Seeing that word in a paragraphs always gives shivers, as Owen Meany would put it. Certainly there is no rational explanation of that unconditioned reflex. Too bad my knowledge of etymologies of English words is limitedly approaching zero because if I had at least some clue, I would be willing to bet a valuable ante that this word from a name of some really mean and evil person. After all, it was popularized by Fox News!
